Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has successfully undergone a kidney transplant, his management, Lakreem Entertainment, announced Monday.
A statement from Myke Pam, on behalf of management, noted that Eedris and his wife, Yetunde, who is his kidney donor, were both recovering.
Management further appreciated celebrities and fans for their support of the couple during their health crisis.
The statement read: “It is with unspeakable joy and undiluted gratitude that the management of Lakreem Entertainment is officially releasing the news of the successful kidney transplant surgery on Nigerian hip-hop czar and activist Eedris Abdulkareem, and his most gracious donor – his lovingly devoted wife YT , a few hours ago.
“Our undivided thanks and appreciation go to all well-meaning Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, and all his fans from around the world who prayed, cared for, reached out and supported this amazing couple during this health crisis. May your individual and collective resources never run dry.
“As the recovery and healing process begins for both of them, with the best science can offer, under the ever benevolent gaze of Almighty God, surrounded by the love and care of family, we ask that the prayers and support be continued as they are slowly getting back on their feet.
“In conclusion, we must emphasize that Nigerians are indeed at the top of the pack when needed. We as humans are just wonderful; all we need is good and purposeful governance. Indeed, our God is good. .. always! God bless us all”
The rapper announced that he has suffered kidney failure and would undergo a transplant in July.
