To further his efforts to maintain peace and security in Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was at Defense Headquarters in Abuja on Friday, where he met with Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya.

Speaking to journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting with the army chief, Governor Inuwa indicated that his government will continue to work with the armed forces to ensure the prevailing peace in Gombe state.

He praised the Nigerian military and its sister agencies for their role and unremitting efforts to stem the current insecurity threatening the nation.

“I would especially like to thank the Army Chief of Staff for what he has done, especially given the security situation in the country today. Even in the face of numerous challenges across the country, they have been able to help us maintain peace in Gombe State.”

He said his government will continue to seek the support and cooperation of the armed forces and other security services through a constant commitment to securing the peace that prevails in Gombe state.
