Kwara State Police Command, in conjunction with members of Miyetti Allah town of Oro-Ago in the state’s Ifelodun Local Government Area, has arrested a four-member infamous gang of armed robbers in the area.

The Nigerian Tribune found that the mobsters’ trading stock robbed unsuspecting businessmen and merchants of their money and goods, especially on market days.

It was collected that an Alhaji Yahaya Ishaku ‘man’ of Ahun Fulani via Oro-Ago was robbed and robbed of the proceeds from the sale of his cows’ totaling N600,000 identified by the suspects as Bello Baneri ‘man’, Umaru Shehu ‘man’, Awalu Umaru ‘man’ and Mamma Muhammed ‘man’ all from Fulani camp Oro-Ago, while returning from Kara market in Ajase-Ipo where he went to sell his cows on 20/8/2022.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Police (PPRO), Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the incident, said the investigation revealed that the prime suspect, Mamma Mohammed ‘man’, had been hired by the complainant to help him keep his cows in the vehicle. while on the way to the market to sell the cows.

“At approximately 1500 hours of 8/22/2022, a team of police officers and members of Miyetti Allah of Oro-Ago set out in a combined operation to search for a gang of armed robbers, whose trading stock robbed mostly unsuspecting civilians in the way of their money and goods on market days.

“The operation became necessary after the intelligence compass pointed to the fact that the perpetrators were hibernating at the Fulani camp in Oro-Ago.

“One such instance of armed robbery was reported by an Alhaji Yahaya Ishaku ‘man’ from Ahun Fulani via Oro-Ago, who was robbed and robbed of the proceeds from the sale of his cows’ total sum of N600,000:00 by the following suspects: Bello Baneri “man”, Umaru Shehu “man”, Awalu Umaru “man” and Mamma Muhammed “man” all from Fulani camp Oro-Ago, while returning from Kara market in Ajase-Ipo where he went to sell his cows on 20/8/2022.

“Interestingly, preliminary investigations have revealed that the prime suspect, Mamma Mohammed, was hired by the complainant to help him load his cows into the vehicle while he was on his way to the market to sell the cows.

“After loading the cows was finished, Mamman Mohammed ‘the suspect’ went to inform his gang members about the sale of the cows by the victim and then planned and ambush the victim.

“On the way back from the market, the victim, who was riding his bicycle back to the camp, was stopped by the gang. They hit him on the head with sticks, he fell from the motorcycle and passed out.

“He was searched by the attackers and the N600,000; the proceeds of the sales found on him were taken away.

“During the investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime and the amount of N400,000: part of the stolen money has been recovered, while an attempt is made to recover the balance.
