Kogi State Police Command men have arrested an unidentified man for allegedly killing his friend, Kehinde Ajayi, and burying his corpse at his home around Felele, in the Lokoja area of ​​the state.

Our correspondent found out that the middle-aged suspect allegedly murdered Ajayi on Sunday, July 24, 2022 and secretly buried his corpse in his residence.

A source, speaking to our correspondent, said the victim had purchased a Toyota Sienna vehicle with license plate LSD 228 HJ and that the suspect lured him to a community location to celebrate the achievement.

The source said that after Ajayi, along with the suspect and some other individuals, left for the location, the victim was never seen again.

Ajayi’s family, who complained about his whereabouts, are said to have reported a missing person case at the nearest police station.

However, investigation into Ajayi’s disappearance from the community reportedly led to the arrest of one of his friends who provided useful information about what had happened to him.

The source revealed that after the suspect allegedly killed Ajayi, he left in his car, adding that he took police officers to his home on Monday and showed them the location where he buried Ajayi’s body.

However, some youths angry about the development began to vandalize the suspect’s home after police exhumed Ajayi’s body.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ayah confirmed the incident.

He said: “The body of the late Ajayi has been recovered and the investigation is ongoing to arrest others who may have been involved in his murder.”
