Stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the auspices of the Northwest Conference Forum have said the zone is critical to the party’s 2023 victory.
Speaking at the event at Arewa House Kaduna, a former chief of staff, Government House Kaduna and a senatorial candidate for Kaduna’s Central Senatorial District, Alh Muhammad Sani Dattijo noted that the northwest zone is critical to the party’s 2023 victory.
According to him, the zone provided 46% of the total votes cast for President Buhari, while in 2019, although the total votes cast fell to 39%, the zone still led the way.
Dattijo, who was also the immediate former Commissioner of Budget and Planning I in Kaduna, believed the zone can repeat the same feat if it works hard, and said the Northwest is critical to APC’s 2023 victory.
“What we do in the coming months will determine how far we can go and bring our side to victory,” he emphasized.
Earlier, the National Chairman of the APC Stakeholders Forum conference organizers Abdullahi Aliyu Katsina noted that the conference was organized for party members in the zone not to relent to ensure that APC remains the party to beat in the elections of next year.
While he was optimistic that the zone will repeat its performance in 2023, he was optimistic that APC will win the election.
However, he advised every support group in the zone to work hard for the party’s victory.
“There has to be commitment. When the stakes are there, I think victory is certain, he emphasized.
The national president of Think Nigeria Group, a pressure group of the party, declared the conference open, Alh Nasiru Ladan said once we get it right, the country’s journey to greatness is assured.
Ladan noted that the question of region or religion should not be the yardstick by which to measure candidates or the party, but rather competence and achievement.
Participants from the seven states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Katsina attended the one-day event.
