The Kwara state commando of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) paraded Friday with a 23-year-old suspect, who allegedly stole 21 phones from students taking JAMB exam in Ilorin.

While parading the suspect, Kadiri Qudus, at the command headquarters in Ilorin, the Corps PR officer, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said the command also arrested two other suspects for allegedly channeling his 19-year-old daughter and for alleged burglary and theft.

Ayeni said Kadiri Qudus was posing as a nasal mask salesman at a JAMB exam center in Ilorin, where he had deposited 21 phones belonging to the students.

Ayeni said the suspect made off with their phones before the students had finished writing the exam.

Speaking to reporters, Qudus denied having made off with the phones. He claimed that the phones were actually stolen from where he kept them.

“Fearing what would happen to me, I had to run from my dear life,” he added.

The Kwara state commander of the NSCDC also paraded 55-year-old security officer Arowolo Ayodeji for having carnal knowledge of his 19-year-old daughter.

The alleged daughter rapist said he is from Ipoti Ekiti, Ekiti state.

He said the marriage between him and the girl’s mother crashed when the girl was two.

When urged to speak further, Ayodeji said that the devil vicariously lured him to commit the crime.

Ayeni said Arowolo Ayodeji’s report was brought to the command’s attention through Kwara State’s Social Affairs Ministry.

“The ministry and the Gender Unit of the command are working together. It was a Good Samaritan who reported the matter to the Department of Social Welfare before the matter was brought here. And the suspect was arrested at Ijero Ekiti.

“The man allegedly harassed the girl when she was seven years old.”

The NSCDC chief said 19-year-old Emmanuel has been a serial killer.
He said: “His cases have been brought here several times and on several occasions he has been remanded in custody, but he does not seem to want to change his act.
