Benue State Police Command says it has arrested three suspected armed robbers terrorizing some parts of the state’s metropolis Makurdi.

State police public relations officer SP Catherine Anene said in a statement on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested at Logo 1, Wurukum, in Makurdi.

Anene said the suspects, before their arrest, had robbed residents in the Wurukum, Northbank and Modern Market areas, all in the capital Makurdi.

“Luckily, on August 26, 2022, around 4 p.m., the named suspects, Fanen Wever, Philip Adanyi, alias Baron, and Albert Akor, alias J-Boy, all men with no fixed address, were arrested in their hideout, inside Logo 1 Wurukum, Makurdi.

“Items recovered from the suspects include a locally made pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition, wrappers of weed suspected of being Indian hemp, various illegal drugs and charms,” ​​Anene said.

The PPRO said the suspects had confessed to the crimes and added that they would appear in court after the investigation was completed.
