The deputy governor of Zamfara state under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, Malam Mani, has denied that the party’s flag bearer in the state, Dauda Lawal Dare, defected to the All Progressives Congress.

Addressing reporters in Gusau on Sunday, Mani said there is no trace of truth in the alleged story.

He commented, “Dauda Lawal Dare never thought about switching to APC.”

He claimed it was a complete lie spread by some mischief-makers who misled the general public.

“Dauda has no plan whatsoever to live the PDP and will contest and win the gubernatorial elections under the PDP’s platform in 2023.”

“Those who are spreading the rumors of Dauda’s defections to APC are those who are uncomfortable with this popular growth,” Mani said.

He stressed that Dauda was still in the running and would continue the matter until he was finally given power by the grace of God.

Mani expressed his optimism that the PDP would win the Zamfara state, given the large number of people who flock to PDP from APC and other parties every day.

He called on the people of the state to support Lawal Dare’s candidacy to save the state from total disintegration due to ongoing insecurity problems.
