A total of 650 students were enrolled on Thursday at the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The students were admitted to the four faculties of the institution including Surveying and Geoinformatics, Cartography and GIS, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and General Analysis.

During the ceremony, the institution’s rector, Professor Dupe Oluyinka-Dosunmu, congratulated the new students, just as she urged them to abide by the law.

She also instructed them to keep their distance from associations that would damage their image and that of their families.

She said: “You need to know why you are here and get rid of anything that could endanger your academics. I will also advise you to use your time wisely to graduate with good grades.”

The guest lecturer on the occasion, Dr. Airen Edale Adetimirin, instructed the admission students to study with concentration and sincerity.

She said it’s important that they finish strong while focusing on their primary goals.

She urged them to do their best to get good grades, while urging them to be sincere and diligent in whatever academic activity they will be involved in, saying, “Your effort will be met with good success. awarded.

“As a student, your primary goal in this institution is your academics and everything else is secondary. Your education is the main reason you are in this school and it is expected to be taken with all seriousness. This goal should always be kept in the back of your mind on a daily basis.

“Academic motivation is another indicator of success during your education. You must have a high academic motivation which will be the driving force to achieve good success.

“The primary goal of coming to this school is to earn a degree at the end of your program and this should always be your priority.”

Adetimirin also encouraged parents and guardians to be actively involved in the success of their pupils in the program they have incorporated at school.

She said they should show great dedication to their academic achievement by providing the necessary funds for tuition and other miscellaneous expenses such as a monthly stipend.
