Comedian Chris Tucker, veteran actor Richard Gere, wrestler Jeff Hardy and football players David Ospina and Nicolás Tagliafico celebrate their birthdays today, August 30.

1. Chris Tucker

Christopher Tucker (born August 31, 1971) is an American comedian and actor.

He debuted in 1992 as a stand-up performer on the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam, where he appeared regularly on the show throughout the 1990s.

His film debut was in 1994 when he appeared in House Party 3, alongside stars such as Bernie Mac, Marques Houston and Khandi Alexander.

In 1995, Tucker appeared in one of his most notable and hilarious films, Friday (1995), alongside Ice Cube. That same year, he appeared in another film, Dead Presidents.

His other films include; The Fifth Element, Money Talks and Jackie Brown, and later rose to fame in the 2000s for playing Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour series, for which he received several accolades.

2. Richard Gere

Richard Tiffany Gere (born August 31, 1949) is an American actor.

He began his acting career in the 1970s, with a supporting role in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977) and a starring role in Days of Heaven (1978).

He gained fame for his role in the film American Gigolo (1980), which established him as the lead actor.

He starred in movies like; An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), The Cotton Club (1984), Pretty Woman (1990), Sommersby (1993), Primal Fear (1996), Runaway Bride (1999), I’m Not There (2007), Arbitration ( 2012) and Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer (2016).

3. Jeff Hardy

Jeffrey Nero Hardy (born August 31, 1977) is an American professional wrestler and musician.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and regarded as one of the most daring high flyers and risk takers in the sport.

Along with his brother Matt Hardy, The Hardy Boyz tag team is widely regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in professional wrestling history.

Hardy is also involved in motocross, music, painting and other artistic activities.

In 2003, Hardy co-wrote an autobiographical book of memoirs with his brother Matt entitled The Hardy Boyz. The book was a New York Times Bestseller.

4. David Ospina

David Ospina Ramírez (born August 31, 1988) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr and the Colombian national team.

Ospina began his career in Colombia with Atlético Nacional, where he made his club debut in 2005.

He has earned 124 caps for his country, making him his country’s most capped player of all time, having appeared in four Copa Américas and two World Cups.

He played for France’s Nice, English giants Arsenal and Italian club Napoli.

5. Nicolas Tagliafico

Nicolás Alejandro Tagliafico (born 31 August 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a left back for Ligue 1 club Lyon and the Argentina national team.

He is known for his stamina, skill, versatility and excellent technique.

He played for the Argentine clubs Banfield and Independiente, but also for Ajax and Lyon.

He played 40 times for the Argentina national team.
