A presidential candidate on the Peoples Democratic Party platform and publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, told Friday about his experience with the wife of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Remi Tinubu at the funeral of an APC leader. the late Kemi Nelson in Lagos.

Momodu said in a succinct statement on his verified Instagram page via @delemomoduovation that his decision to support the PDP was aimed at disrupting the ruling APC.

He said: “Only two people, apart from the photographers, witnessed what happened between me and Senator Oluremi Tinubu yesterday, during Chief Kemi Nelson’s funeral service at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church in Ikeja, Lagos.

“Before some people add salt and pepper (sic), I have to state exactly what happened. Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Dr Tunji Olowolafe and I walked in at about the same time and went to greet my very dear sister, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. She saw me right away, we exchanged our usual pleasantries, and then she asked me, “So, Bob Dee, you’re not going to campaign for my husband?” I smiled and remained very calm before replying, “Excellence, I’m in PDP.” She apparently didn’t think it was funny and regaled us with the past I shared with her husband and I tried to calm her down.

“Anyway, I went back to my seat and thought about what had just happened and I just spoke. Before the PDP primaries, I was repeatedly asked by journalists if I would dump PDP if I don’t get the ticket, my answer was NO (sic). So if I got the PDP ticket, would I resign for TINUBU from APC, the answer is No (sic).

“I joined PDP because APC led Nigeria to Calvary. APC Candidates Pledge to Continue with BUHARI’s ‘Good Works!’ (sic) I joined PDP to remove APC from power and to do this I needed a strong opposition party. I had preached to my younger friends that only a mainstream party like PDP can achieve this by 2023.”

However, Momodu said that while he would respect the opposing views of his friends, he chose to put Nigeria over friendship.

He added: “This remains my belief. I practice what I preach. Those who disagree are in other parties and I respect their opinion and wish them well. I am in PDP. I love from ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU We are really far back I love PROFESSOR YEMI OSINBAJO I love RT SO CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI… And all my APC friends… (sic) But APC has Nigeria too much caused damage.
